Handlery Union Square Hotel

LOVED the location. The room was so nice and spacious. The staff was kind and safely stored our bags while we went out in the city for the last day. I wouldn't say there's anything super fancy about the hotel and it is an older building but it was very clean and comfortable for our family. The balcony and windows that open were an AWESOME bonus! :) ALSO, I didn't know until after we had arrived that the parking in the garage was only $17 (maybe check ahead as this could have been a special offer for the holiday. We took the train to avoid the typical $65-a-night charge for parking that most hotels in SF offer so we didn't use it but, having this option is nice!

Superb location in the heart of the city. Excellent public transport options nearby. Staff were friendly, with genuine smiles and were very helpful. Room was a good size. Bed was very comfortable. Our room on 6th floor was very quiet for a central city hotel. And it has an open air heated swimming pool - yes, in the middle of the city!

Lovely sized room. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Close to a few bars, convenience stores, delis & restaurants. Right next to Powell Street where the cable cars are.

It was lovely to stay there. I was at a conference across the street, and I chose here to stay. Everything was good, I had a pleasant stay. There was one issue and I after I left wanted to tell the manager as it was a bit upsetting, not a big deal. The manager and resolution of the issue was SUPER generous, I wasn’t even expecting anything, I just wanted to inform him about a slight issue I had with my stay. It is SO rare these days that customer service reigns, so I was truly grateful for their caring and generous response. I would definitely choose this hotel again, as I think my issue was a one time mistake that won’t happen again. Thank you to the owner/manager for a prompt and caring response. Toni

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hanley Hotel in Union Square, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, combining modern comforts with a touch of classic charm. I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was—from the comfortable beds to the thoughtfully provided amenities, including makeup mirrors, a shoeshine service, and even an in-room refrigerator. The location couldn’t be better; being right in the heart of downtown San Francisco meant that I was within walking distance of so many great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Checking in early was a breeze, and the accommodating staff went out of their way to ensure that I felt welcome. They even held my baggage the next day, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely breakfast without any worries.
